GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE – HOTEL MAURITANIA

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (“Terms & Conditions”) set out the rules under which Hotel Mauritania (“the Hotel”) provides accommodation and related services to its guests (“the Guest”).

Any reservation made with the Hotel implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms & Conditions as well as the Hotel’s internal regulations.

ARTICLE 1 – SCOPE OF APPLICATION

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made directly with Hotel Mauritania, whether through the Hotel’s website, by phone, or in person.

ARTICLE 2 – CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

2.1. Check-in and Check-out Times

Check-in: from 3:00 PM
Check-out: before 11:00 AM

2.2. Late Check-out

Late check-out between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM: 50% of the nightly rate
After 2:00 PM: an additional full night will be charged

2.3. Required Documents

A valid ID (passport or national ID card) is required for each guest.
Every person staying in the property—including guests aged 15 and above—must complete an individual police form.

ARTICLE 3 – RATES AND PRICING POLICY

3.1. Rates

All prices are listed in Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) and include applicable VAT.
Any change in VAT rates will automatically apply to the final price.

3.2. City Tax

The city tax is not included and must be paid directly at the Hotel.

ARTICLE 4 – PAYMENT TERMS

4.1. Payment

Full payment for the stay and any booked services is required at the time of reservation.

4.2. Accepted Payment Methods

  • Cash (MAD or Euros)

  • Credit cards

4.3. Bank Fees

Guests are responsible for any bank fees or currency conversion charges.
No credit or deferred payment is permitted.

ARTICLE 5 – CANCELLATION AND MODIFICATIONS

5.1. Cancellation Policy

Specific cancellation and modification conditions are provided at the time of booking and in the confirmation email.

5.2. Prepaid Bookings

Prepaid bookings cannot be modified or cancelled and are non-refundable.

5.3. No-show

In the event of a no-show, the Hotel will retain the full amount of non-refundable reservations.

ARTICLE 6 – HOUSE RULES

6.1. Safety and Access

  • Use of unauthorized electrical or gas devices is strictly prohibited

  • No unregistered guest is allowed in the room

  • Under Article 490 of Moroccan Penal Code, hosting a Moroccan national of the opposite sex without proof of marriage is strictly prohibited

  • Illegal substances or items are strictly forbidden

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in all rooms and common areas

6.2. Behavior

Guests must respect staff, other guests, and hotel property.
Any inappropriate behavior or damage may result in immediate eviction without refund and/or charges for repairs.

6.3. Luggage and Lost Items

Luggage left in a room after check-out time without confirmed extension will be removed and stored at reception.
Lost and found items are kept for 6 months and 1 day.

6.4. Children

Children remain under the full responsibility of their parents or guardians.
The Hotel declines liability for accidents involving unsupervised minors.

6.5. Visitors

Visitors are not allowed in guest rooms without prior approval from management.

6.6. Pets

Pets are not allowed, except certified assistance animals upon presentation of valid documentation.

ARTICLE 7 – LIABILITY

7.1. Guest Responsibility

The Guest is liable for any damage caused by themselves or their companions.
Repair costs may be charged to the Guest.

7.2. Hotel Liability

The Hotel assumes no responsibility for:

  • Theft, loss or damage to personal belongings

  • Internet outages or technical issues

  • Accidents involving unsupervised children

ARTICLE 8 – CLAIMS AND DISPUTES

8.1. Claims

Any complaint must be submitted:

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Moroccan law.

8.3. Disputes

In case of dispute, parties will first seek an amicable resolution.
Failing agreement, the competent court is the one with jurisdiction over the Hotel’s location.

ARTICLE 9 – PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

Personal data collected during the reservation or stay is processed for operational and administrative purposes.
Data may be transferred abroad in accordance with authorization obtained from the CNDP.

ARTICLE 10 – MISCELLANEOUS

10.1. Acceptance

Any reservation or access to the premises constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

10.2. Amendments

The Hotel reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
The applicable version is the one in effect at the time of booking.

10.3. Effective Date

These Terms & Conditions come into effect upon publication on the Hotel’s website.
